Allison Holker reveals Stephen 'tWitch' Boss was never the same after ayahuasca trip
Allison Holker has revealed that her late husband, Stephen 'tWitch' Boss, was deeply affected by an ayahuasca experience before his tragic death.
In her newly released memoir, This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light, Holker describes how the experience altered Boss permanently.
Holker, 36, shared that the former Ellen Show DJ and dancer, who died at 40, returned from his ayahuasca trip with a changed demeanor. "I think it was a very big turning point for him. I feel like his heart was never really in the same place when he came back," she wrote.
Ayahuasca, a plant-based psychedelic traditionally used in South American spiritual ceremonies, is known for its intense psychological effects. Holker believes Boss "opened something up to himself that he never healed. And never fully escaped."
Additionally, Holker disclosed that she inherited substantial financial burdens after Boss' passing. She explained in the memoir that he had accumulated significant debt, including a $1 million tax bill, due to reckless spending on art collections and financial handouts to friends and family.
In a bold move, Holker also expressed her desire to purchase and demolish the Encino, California, motel where Boss took his own life in December 2022. "One day, hand on heart, that motel will cease to exist," she wrote, adding that she hopes to replace it with a dance studio in his memory.
Holker's memoir sheds light on the complexities of grief, financial struggles, and the emotional aftermath of losing a loved one to suicide. Her revelations have sparked discussions on the impact of psychedelics and mental health in the entertainment industry.
