PTI leaders from Punjab get protective bails

PESHAWAR:

Two separate benches of the Peshawar High Court on Tuesday granted protective bails on pleas filed by PTI leader and former Punjab minister Jamal Nasir Cheema and Seemabia Tahir.

The two benches ordered them to approach relevant high courts for further details of the cases. They also barred the relevant agencies from arresting the petitioners.

A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Abdul Fayaz heard protective bail plea filed by PTI leader and former Punjab minister Jamal Nasir Cheema.

The petitioner's counsel Advocate Alam Khan Adenzai told the court that his client is a former provincial minister. He requested the court to provide details of the cases registered against his client. He said that the cases have been registered against his client in Punjab.

The court granted the petitioner protective bail till February 24 and directed him to approach the relevant high court for details of the cases.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Mudassar Amir heard protective bail plea filed by PTI female leader Seemabia Tahir.

The petitioner's counsel, Advocate Alam Khan Adenzai, told the court that unspecified cases have been registered against the petitioner. He said that his client is afraid of being arrested.

The government or police is not providing her with details of the cases. He said that she wanted to appear in courts. The petitioner's counsel pleaded the court to grant protective bail. The court granted one-month protective bail to the petitioner Seemabia Tahir and ordered her to approach the relevant high court for details of the cases.
