The Final Destination franchise is making a comeback with a teaser trailer for its first installment in 14 years.

Warner Bros. has unveiled the initial promo for Final Destination: Bloodlines, which is scheduled to premiere in theaters and IMAX on May 16. The film, directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, marks the sixth entry in the New Line horror series, following *Final Destination 5*, which last hit the big screen in August 2011.

The movie follows Stefanie, played by Kaitlyn Santa Juana, as she searches for the only person who might be able to break the cycle of fatal incidents that have plagued her family. The cast also features Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and the late Tony Todd.

“My old man just died, I come in as a favor, and now they want me to lock up,” a tattoo artist (Harmon) complains in the teaser before a sudden twist of fate turns his situation deadly.

Lipovsky and Stein directed the film from a screenplay by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, with Jon Watts credited for developing the story. The production team includes Watts, Craig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Dianne McGunigle, and Toby Emmerich.

The Final Destination series began with the 2000 film directed by James Wong, which followed a teenager, played by Devon Sawa, who has a premonition of a plane crash and helps his classmates escape, only for them to later face horrifying deaths.

Starring Ali Larter and Kerr Smith, the original Final Destination grossed $112 million worldwide, which amounts to approximately $205 million in today’s value.
