Taylor Swift leaves Grammys 2025 empty-handed after losing all six nominations
Taylor Swift left the 2025 Grammys without any wins, losing in all six nominated categories. Despite the losses, the Down Bad singer, 35, appeared unbothered, cheering for the winners and performers at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
She also had the honor of presenting Beyoncé with the best country album award, marking the first time the singer won album of the year after four previous losses.
Had Swift secured the album of the year award for The Tortured Poets Department, it would have been her fifth win in the category, following Fearless (2010), 1989 (2016), Folklore (2021), and Midnights (2024).
Winning would have made her the first artist to achieve five victories in the category.
Engineer Serban Ghenea remains the only individual with five album of the year wins, having worked on 1989, Midnights, Adele’s 25, Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic, and Shakira’s Fijación Oral, Vol. 1.
Swift’s nomination still made history, as she became the first artist to receive seven album of the year nominations.
Other nominees in the category included André 3000 (New Blue Sun), Beyoncé (Cowboy Carter), Sabrina Carpenter (Short n’ Sweet), Charli XCX (Brat), Jacob Collier (Djesse Vol. 4), Billie Eilish (Hit Me Hard and Soft), and Chappell Roan (The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess).
Before Sunday’s event, the billionaire artist had already won 14 Grammys and was nominated for six more this year, including best pop vocal album for TTPD.
Her song Fortnight was also in contention for song of the year, record of the year, and best music video, while her collaboration with Gracie Abrams on Us earned a best pop duo/group performance nomination.
Swift had been announced as a presenter for the night ahead of the ceremony.
She attended solo, as her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, was preparing for his upcoming Super Bowl game.
