KHAIRPUR:

A married couple, Sonia Qureshi and Nasir Qureshi, suffered severe burn injuries when the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder on which they were making tea exploded at their home in Azam Colony on Sunday morning.

The victims were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Khairpur for treatment. Local residents have raised concerns over the ongoing gas crisis, highlighting that more than 80 neighbourhoods and colonies in Khairpur suffer from either extremely low gas pressure or frequent load shedding. This has forced many residents to rely on LPG cylinders for cooking. However, many people try to save money by purchasing low-quality cylinders which explode when exposed to heat.
