Transport fares rise after POL price hike
Transporters have increased their fares and loading vehicles have also increased the transportation charges of food items and essential items with the increase in the price of petroleum products by up to Rs7.
As a result, prices have increased all around. Building material fares have also increased due to the increase in transportation charges. All small and large loading vehicles have increased their fares immensely. Disputes have also started between passengers and transporters due to the increase in transport fares. With the sudden increase in the price of diesel by Rs7 per litre, railway fares have also increased. Rail freight vehicle fares have increased alongside these.
The government has increased the prices of petroleum products for the third time in a row. The increase in all types of fares has accelerated. The fares of diesel transport vehicles in rural areas and long routes have been increased by Rs10 to Rs20 per ride. Pick and drop transport for students has also increased fares by Rs500 per student due to the continuous increase in the prices of petroleum products. Vice President of the Transport Federation, Asif Khan, said that the government has increased petrol and diesel prices for the third time.
