Reports have surfaced suggesting that LeBron James and Anthony Davis are pushing the LA Lakers front office to make moves in order to make the team a legitimate contender. Davis, in particular, has expressed that the Lakers need another star player to help him reach his full potential at power forward.

These reported demands have not been well received by analyst Skip Bayless. On "The Skip Bayless Show" YouTube channel, Bayless criticized the All-Star duo of James and Davis for asking for additional pieces:

"I'm calling BS on both of them, I'm sorry," said Bayless. "Even their agent Rich Paul dropped hints with the media...seriously? How about these two players?"

Bayless specifically pointed out that James and Davis are more than enough for the Lakers because they’re already excelling in a key statistical area this season:
"Player efficiency rating — it's a tell-all," explained the veteran journalist. "You can hang your NBA Finals hats on it."

The Player Efficiency Rating (PER), introduced by John Hollinger in his 2005 book *Pro Basketball Forecast*, is a per-minute productivity score designed to summarize a player’s contributions (like points, rebounds, and assists) and mistakes (like turnovers and missed shots).

Bayless noted that Davis and James are currently ranked fifth and 15th in PER among all NBA players. He also mentioned that if certain qualifiers (like a minimum number of games played) were considered, they could rank as high as fourth and eighth, or even second and fifth in PER.

"I'll take these two over any two you can throw at me from any other team," Bayless stated. "And they're complaining about needing more help? Stop it...get that you-know-what out of here."

As the trade deadline nears, there is speculation about potential moves the Lakers front office may make. However, one NBA insider has revealed what the Lakers will reportedly not do.
