Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine’s $2M diamond pendant and other jewels get auctioned by IRS over unpaid taxes
Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine’s extravagant jewelry collection is hitting the auction block after being seized by the IRS due to unpaid taxes. Among the items up for sale is his iconic “Bruce the Shark” diamond pendant, which has already received multiple bids, with the current price at $2,025,000.
The massive pendant, designed by Jimmy Boi Jewelers, features 118 carats of 10-karat white gold and 102 carats of diamonds. It also includes 16 carats of trillion-cut diamonds for the shark’s teeth and black round brilliant-cut diamonds for added detail. Stamped on the back are Hernandez’s signature “69” and the phrases “Done Right” and “#Teamdoneright.” The pendant, which has minor cracks and damage, appeared in Tekashi’s music videos for “Gooba,” “Trollz” (featuring Nicki Minaj), and “Yaya.”
The auction, authorized by the IRS and hosted by LiveAuctioneers, aims to recover unpaid taxes from the rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez. IRS auctions typically involve real estate and business assets, but celebrity items like Tekashi’s jewelry draw significant public attention.
The rapper has responded to the news with a video of his safe on Instagram Stories, claiming that federal agents broke in expecting to find money but only found his prized collection of jewels.
Tekashi 6ix9ine has a history of legal troubles, including charges related to racketeering, firearms offenses, and probation violations. In November 2024, he was sentenced to another 45 days in prison for repeatedly violating his probation. On Instagram, he claimed the government raided his house while he was unable to return to the U.S., saying, “I did not report my income for four years.”
The auction begins on March 5, with additional jewelry, music plaques, and designer items also up for bidding.
