Afghan official's son killed in D I Khan
The three Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists killed in Dera Ismael Khan on Thursday included a son of deputy governor of Afghanistan's Badghis province, sources revealed on Friday.
The sources confirmed that Badar Uddin, also known as Yousuf, was killed along with members of the Gandapur group in DI Khan. He was son of Maulvi Ghulam Muhammad, the deputy governor of Badghis province.
The 55-year-old deputy governor is a Pashtun from Ghormach district and has 11 children from his three wives. According to the sources, Afghan territory was being used for terrorism in Pakistan, and the death of the Afghan official's son alongside TTP terrorists served as evidence supporting Pakistan's stance.
The sources said that Afghanistan was providing training, weapons, and safe havens to the TTP and other terrorist groups. This, they argued, was a clear example of state-sponsored terrorism that could not be tolerated.
The involvement of the deputy governor's son in terrorism and his death alongside the TTP terrorists had been seen as an undeniable proof of Afghanistan's role in cross-border terrorism. The sources emphasised that terrorist groups in Afghanistan posed a threat not only to Pakistan but to the entire region. Pakistan has vowed to respond decisively to any aggression originating from Afghanistan.
