Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar penned a heartfelt note in an Instagram grid post, welcoming Ibrahim Ali Khan into the industry. The post, shared on Wednesday, also comes as an announcement that Ibrahim is set to follow in his family's footsteps and his journey is going to be aided by none other than Karan himself, who has launched notable 'nepo babies' to fame in the past.

The 52-year-old producer began his note by singing praises of Ibrahim's parents and his long-running friendship with them. "I met Amrita [Singh] or Dingy, which is how her loved ones referred to her, when I was just 12 years old. She did a film for Dharma Productions with my father called Duniya. I remember her grace so vividly, as well as the energy & the command she had over the camera," Karan wrote.

However, his fondest memory of the Dus Kahaniyaan actor is the meal he once shared with her and her hairstylist at the time, shortly after their first meeting. The two then watched a James Bond film together. "She treated me like her own the second we met and that was the power of her grace, which lives on in her children, too!" he added.

On the other hand, his first encounter with Saif Ali Khan was in film producer Anand Mahendru's office. "Young, suave, charming, and effortless - very much like the first time I met Ibrahim. [We formed] a strong friendship that continues from our generation to, luckily, our kids!" Karan said.

"I have known this family for 40 years. I have worked with them in different capacities - Duniya and the wonderful 2 States with Amrita, Kal Ho Naa Ho to Kurbaan with Saif, and of course, Simmba with Sara followed by many more to come!" he listed. "I know this family for the heart they have."

The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director maintained that artistry is in the family's DNA and, therefore, comes naturally to all of them. He promised to pave the path for a new line of talent, which he cannot wait to introduce to the world. "So, stay tuned as Ibrahim Ali Khan makes his way into your hearts and soon, onto the screens!" he declared.

While much about the project remains under wraps, it is safe to expect a spectacle with Karan onboard. After all, he is known for his flashy hits, including Student of the Year (2012), which introduced stars Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Siddharth Malhotra to the vast world of Bollywood.
