Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci, whose real name is Rayshawn Bennett, has been released from Fulton County Jail after serving time for a gang-related charge under Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.
His release follows a plea deal in which he admitted guilt to one charge while 12 others were dropped.
Bennett was arrested in 2021 as part of a Fulton County investigation into the Bloods gang. Authorities accused him and 12 others of committing crimes to enhance the gang’s reputation and control territory. He was charged with 13 counts, including murder, for allegedly driving a vehicle in a fatal drive-by shooting.
In January 2024, Bennett pleaded guilty to one count of violating Georgia's anti-gang laws. He was sentenced to 20 years, with 10 to be served in prison. However, with credit for time served, he was granted parole.
Upon his release, Bennett expressed gratitude for his family and fans, vowing to use his platform to inspire change. Think It’s A Game Records, his label, welcomed him back, calling his return a “new chapter” in his career.
Under his parole terms, Bennett must remain in Georgia, avoid gang associations, and undergo regular drug testing. His parole will last until Jan. 13, 2031, during which he will reside at his mother’s home.
