Jisoo, best known as a member of Blackpink, has expressed her desire to take on a wider range of acting roles after receiving the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award at Canneseries. The event marked a significant milestone in her growing acting career, which has already expanded beyond music into film and television.

The star attended Canneseries alone for the first time, where she was met with strong attention from fans and media. She described the experience as meaningful, highlighting the significance of the festival’s pink carpet and noting that the moment carried personal importance for her as an artist. The appearance added to her rising profile as she continues to balance music and acting work.

Jisoo spoke briefly with journalists after receiving the award, reflecting on the support she received from international fans who travelled to the event from various countries. The ceremony was marked by visible enthusiasm from attendees, with her speech reportedly interrupted at moments by cheering supporters gathered at the venue.

The Rising Star Award has previously been given to actors including Daisy Edgar-Jones, Phoebe Dynevor, Sydney Sweeney and Ella Purnell, placing Jisoo among a group of internationally recognised breakout performers. She said she felt honoured to be included alongside them and described the recognition as motivation to continue improving her craft.

In addition to her music career with Blackpink, Jisoo has built a growing acting portfolio. Her credits include Snowdrop, Dr Cheon and the Lost Talisman, Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy and the Netflix series Boyfriend on Demand, which premiered earlier this year. She also released a musical collaboration with Zayn Malik titled “Eyes Closed” in 2025, showing continued activity across both industries.

Speaking about future projects, Jisoo said she hopes to explore a variety of roles that will allow her to connect with audiences in different ways. Her comments reflect a continued shift towards acting, supported by directors who have highlighted her adaptability on screen.

Canneseries artistic director Albin Lewi praised her artistic development and global influence, noting her ability to move between creative fields while maintaining a strong international presence. With a large global following and increasing screen roles, Jisoo’s career continues to expand beyond her work in music.
