UAE hikes fuel prices: How much will tank fill-ups cost?
The UAE Fuel Price Committee has announced a price increase for fuel in February 2025, effective from February 1.
Petrol and diesel prices will rise by 12 to 14 fils per liter compared to January. The updated rates are as follows:
- Diesel: AED 2.82 per liter (up 14 fils from AED 2.68 in January)
- Super 98 Gasoline: AED 2.74 per liter (up 13 fils from AED 2.61 in January)

- E-Plus 91 Gasoline: AED 2.55 per liter (up 12 fils from AED 2.43 in January)
The new prices include a 5% value-added tax (VAT) and reflect adjustments following the price freeze in January 2025, when fuel prices remained unchanged from December 2024 Despite this increase, fuel prices remain over 7% lower than in January 2024.
The UAE's fuel prices are reviewed monthly by the Ministry of Energy, with adjustments based on global oil price fluctuations and operational costs of distribution companies.
Here’s a breakdown of how much it would cost to fill up a car with a fuel tank capacity ranging from 30 to 80 liters, based on the updated fuel prices for February 2025:
Fuel Type | Price per Liter (AED) | 30L Tank Cost (AED) | 50L Tank Cost (AED) | 80L Tank Cost (AED) |

For larger tanks, like an 80L one, the cost could range from AED 204.00 to AED 225.60.
