Twitch streamer Kai Cenat is facing intense backlash after a viral clip showed him and his friends pushing and kicking a $70,000 humanoid robot during a livestream. The footage, which quickly spread across X (formerly Twitter), left many viewers disturbed by the apparent "bullying" of the AI-powered machine.
In the video, Cenat, alongside fellow streamers Agent00 and Fanum, repeatedly knocked the robot down, prompting it to struggle in its attempts to stand back up. Eventually, the humanoid was seen "fleeing" the scene, seemingly trying to escape the abuse.
Fans and critics alike expressed their disgust, with many highlighting the unsettling nature of the behavior. Most found the behavior to be a deeper reflection of power dynamics and a lack of empathy.
Reminds me of when men broke the fingers of a sex robot, molested it and heavily soiled it at a tech fair

It's not about whether the robot has feelings, it's about why these men get so excited about harming something when they know there are no consequences https://t.co/AuEo2aBqBz
This isn’t funny, It’s actually quite disturbing to watch. I know it’s a machine but the power and control dynamic idk just this is wild. Also, I’ve seen iRobot and if technology ever gets to that level I’m on the robots side and I’ll give the bots all 3 of them no problem.

not to get all thinkpiecey about this, but i don’t trust anyone who finds joy in bullying a helpless being whether it’s a robot, an animal, a human etc. too many people lack empathy and i judge anyone who thinks this kind of “content” is funny https://t.co/pZwmKMqQQ2

Robot or not, your viewers are super impressionable. When they see people they admire acting like this, it tells them that it’s okay. No one else has a $70k robot to mess with. So they’re gonna do it to their siblings/peers at school/work.

Pretty fucked up. https://t.co/lIuzHlZIKm
Cenat has yet to respond to the backlash, but this is far from his first controversy. The popular Twitch streamer, who boasts over 16 million followers, previously sparked outrage with a "hanging prank" that many found deeply inappropriate. In 2023, he was also at the center of a Union Square riot after a PlayStation giveaway turned chaotic.
