Judges panels to decide case hearings

The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court on Thursday issued its written order regarding withdrawal of two judicial orders issued on January 13 and 16.

The order stated that the judges committees constituted under Article 191A(4) and Section 2(1) of the Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Act were the legal and constitutional fora to determine which bench would hear what matters.

The written order said that the exercise of powers and performance of legal and constitutional functions by both the committees of the SC and the CB did not impinge upon the judicial functions of any bench.
