Hospitals to get 200 ventilators

The minister said the ventilators had been purchased from a German company.

Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has welcomed the purchase of 200 ICU ventilators worth 1.73 million euros for government teaching hospitals.

The Punjab Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education has procured ventilators to enhance critical care facilities across the province.In a statement issued on Wednesday, the minister said the ventilators had been purchased from a German company.

He added that instructions had been given to dispatch the ventilators to all government teaching hospitals in February.

Meanwhile, the specialised healthcare and medical education department has received recommendations from the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) for the appointment of 19 senior registrars of cardiac surgery.

Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Secretary Azmat Mahmood announced that the doctors would be posted in government cardiac hospitals across the province.
