Five of a family killed in car-bus collision
Five members of the same family were killed, while one was injured when a speeding passenger bus ran over a car on Indus Highway.
In a stark reminder of lack of human values, people stole the cash and belongings of the passengers as the lay in death throes in the car.
The car bound for Larkana from Karachi, collided with a passenger coach while taking a turn at Manjhand-Phori Phatak on the Indus Highway. The deceased include car driver Abdul Aziz Jatoi, Shaukat Jatoi, Eidaan Jatoi, Ali Dost Jatoi, and Noor Nabi Jatoi, while the condition of injured Munawar Jatoi is said to be critical. The dead and the injured were shifted to the LMU Hospital Hyderabad.
The car passengers were returning home after receiving a loved one at Karachi airport who had arrived from Dubai. All the passengers in the car belong to Larkana.
Upon receiving information, Manjhand police reached the spot and took the passenger coach into custody. Driver of the coach fled the accident site. The bodies were handed over to the heirs after legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old labourer, Rehman Khan died in a cave-in at the Aziz Coal Mine Company's mine. Local people retrieved the body and shifted it to the hospital. The deceased is said to be a resident of Swat city. The body was handed over to the heirs who took it to Swat.
