US envoy meets commerce minister

Identifies potential investment areas, including minerals, marine industries, textiles, clean energy

ISLAMABAD:

US Charge d'Affaires Natalie A Baker met with Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan on Wednesday to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral trade and investment relations and explore future cooperation between the two nations.

During the meeting, the minister expressed optimism about enhancing bilateral relations in the coming years, according to a news release.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening mutual trade and fostering collaboration in key economic sectors. The discussions centred on expanding cooperation in agriculture, with a focus on value-added textiles and agricultural products, as well as exploring growth opportunities in the cotton industry.

The two sides also identified potential investment areas, including minerals, marine industries, textiles, and renewable energy.

The meeting concluded on a constructive note, with both parties expressing their determination to maintain momentum in bilateral trade and investment engagements and explore new avenues for cooperation.
