Joey King is recovering after a cooking accident left her with multiple blisters on her face and neck. The Kissing Booth actress revealed the incident on Instagram, sharing close-up photos of the burns.

“I burned myself a few days ago by throwing shallots into a pan of hot oil,” King wrote in her post. Her mother responded with humor, saying, “See, that’s why I hate cooking.”

Despite the painful injuries, King remains positive. This isn't her first skin struggle—she has also been open about her battle with perioral dermatitis, a condition that causes small red bumps around the mouth, nose, and eyes.

Last year, King shared her ongoing skincare challenges, revealing that she had stopped using prescription treatments but was unsure how to manage flare-ups.

King’s latest mishap has prompted her to prioritize kitchen safety, emphasizing the importance of proper handling of hot oil. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, first-degree burns can cause pain and scarring if not treated correctly. She appears to be following recommended treatments, including cool water, petroleum jelly, and sun protection.

Although King recently experimented with bold beauty changes—including dyeing her eyebrows for a magazine party, which her mother disapproved of—her focus now is on healing from her burns. Fans have flooded her comments with well wishes, hoping for a speedy recovery.
