Caroline Kennedy blasts 'predator' cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ahead of confirmation hearings

Caroline Kennedy has publicly denounced her cousin, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., ahead of his Senate confirmation hearings for Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).

In a letter to senators on January 28, the former U.S. ambassador to Australia called Bobby a “predator” and claimed he is “unqualified” for the role due to his lack of government, financial, and medical experience.

Caroline, the daughter of former President John F. Kennedy, previously refrained from commenting on her cousin’s political actions. However, she said she felt an obligation to speak out after his nomination by President Donald Trump.

Her son, Jack Schlossberg, shared a video of her reading the letter aloud, praising her stance.

In the letter, Caroline detailed Bobby’s history of drug addiction and controversial behavior, alleging that he exhibited troubling tendencies from a young age. She also criticized his long-standing opposition to vaccines, arguing that his advocacy has harmed public health while he ensured his own children were vaccinated. She accused him of exploiting his family name for political gain and condemned his use of the Kennedy legacy during his 2024 presidential campaign.

Bobby, 71, is among Trump's most contentious Cabinet nominees due to his promotion of conspiracy theories and shifting political affiliations. His nomination faces scrutiny, with Senate confirmation hearings scheduled for January 29 and 30.

The Senate, currently controlled by Republicans with a 53-47 majority, will ultimately vote on his appointment. If the vote results in a tie, Vice President J.D. Vance would cast the deciding vote.
