At least four people lost their lives and nine others were injured in separate road accidents on the Indus Highway and M-9 motorway in Sindh on Tuesday.

The deadliest accident occurred on the Manjhand section of the Indus Highway near Jamshoro, where a passenger coach collided with a car. The impact killed three people on the spot and left four others injured.

Police attributed the crash to overspeeding, a recurring issue on this highway, which has witnessed several deadly accidents in recent months.

The victims were identified as Shaukat, Aziz, and Aidan, while the injured were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities confirmed that an investigation has been launched to determine whether driver negligence or poor road conditions played a role in the accident.

On the M-9 motorway near Karachi, two separate accidents occurred due to excessive moisture in the air, which created slippery road conditions.

Rescue officials stated that vehicles lost control on certain stretches of the highway, leading to collisions.

The first crash happened near a private housing society in the Gadap City police jurisdiction, where three heavy trailers collided while traveling from Hyderabad to Karachi.

One person, identified as 40-year-old Liaqat, was trapped inside a truck and died at the scene, while three others, Asad (40), Riaz (36), and Anees (24), suffered injuries.

Shortly after, a second crash was reported near Jokhio Mor, where two cars collided due to the same slippery conditions.

Two people, 26-year-old Nasrullah and 28-year-old Mukhtiar, were injured and taken to a private hospital near the toll plaza.

The accidents caused temporary traffic congestion on both highways as rescue teams worked to clear the wreckage.

Motorway police and emergency services responded promptly, ensuring that injured victims were transported to hospitals for treatment.

Officials urged motorists to exercise caution, particularly during early morning hours when moisture and fog can reduce visibility and make roads hazardous.

Authorities have begun formal investigations into all three accidents to assess responsibility and determine whether further safety measures are needed to prevent future incidents.
