Capital set for infrastructure overhaul

Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has announced that significant infrastructure upgrades and a focus on tourism development will shape the future of Islamabad. Speaking to a private news channel, Randhawa outlined his vision to transform the city into a modern urban hub that not only enhances the quality of life for residents but also boosts Islamabad's position as a leading tourist destination.

Key to his plans is the completion of major infrastructure projects and initiatives aimed at unlocking the city's tourism potential, ensuring sustainable long-term growth. Randhawa detailed several ongoing infrastructure developments, including the construction of underpasses at Serena Hotel, Jinnah Underpass, and along the Srinagar Highway. These projects, which are nearing completion with architectural work currently underway, are expected to be finished within the next seven days.

Additionally, ongoing work at the F-9 and F-10 intersections includes the construction of a bridge and an underpass, with the bridge slated to be completed in just 42 days—a record timeframe. These improvements, along with upgrades to the city's road network, are set to streamline traffic flow and enhance connectivity across Islamabad.
