MoU inked for power sector strengthening

ISLAMABAD':

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) and Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for advancing Pakistan's energy sector through regulatory improvements and the integration of renewable energy.

The MoU was inked by Nepra Registrar Waseem Anwar Bhinder and GIZ Cluster Coordinator for Energy and Climate Wolfgang Hesse.

The MoU focuses on the development of a regulatory framework for battery energy storage systems, improving the distribution code to facilitate the integration of renewable energy, electric vehicles and smart technologies, and revising the net metering regulations.
