Security forces have successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on a security post in Gulistan area of Balochistan's Qila Abdullah District, during the night of January 27- January 28.

The terrorists attempted to breach the perimeter using an explosive-laden vehicle after their initial assault was repelled, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In the ensuing fire exchange, all five attackers, including two suicide bombers, were neutralised.

Two soldiers, Naik Tahir Khan (39, from Tank District) and Lance Naik Tahir Iqbal (26, from Karak District), fought valiantly but embraced martyrdom during the intense confrontation.

Following the incident, a sanitisation operation was launched in the area to locate and apprehend any remaining perpetrators.

Afghan national involved in terrorism killed, body delivered to Kabul: ISPR

A terrorist identified as an Afghan national was killed in Sambaza, Zhob district of Balochistan on 11 January 2025, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported last week.

The individual, Muhammad Khan Ahmedkhel, son of Haji Qasim Dawran Khan, was a resident of Bilorai village in Wazekhwa district, Paktika province, Afghanistan.

The deceased was involved in acts of terrorism within Pakistan, the ISPR stated.

After completing legal formalities, Ahmedkhel’s body was handed over to officials of the Interim Afghan Government (IAG) on January 20.

ISPR noted the incident as "irrefutable evidence of Afghan nationals’ involvement in terrorist activities within Pakistan." The military urged Kabul to "fulfil its responsibilities" by ensuring Afghan soil is not used to launch terror attacks against Pakistan.
