Lana Del Rey allegedly asks Selena Gomez to 'pack bags, go back to Mexico' over ICE raids video

A rumor recently circulated online suggesting that singer Lana Del Rey mocked Selena Gomez, allegedly telling her to pack her bags and go home after Gomez’s now-viral video about deportations. The claim was originally posted by X user Shaniqua Posting Delusions, also known as @DeIudedShaniqwa, on January 28.
The post included a photo of Lana Del Rey alongside a screenshot of Selena Gomez crying, captioned:

The rumor gained significant attention on X, amassing 3.3 million views within hours of being shared.
However, the viral claim has been debunked as false. Lana Del Rey never made such a comment about Selena Gomez, and no credible sources have confirmed it.
Additionally, the X account @DeIudedShaniqwa, which shared the post, is known for satirical content aimed at gaining virality. The account even has "satire" mentioned in its bio. A few hours later, the user reshared the post, writing:
“This post was doing generational numbers but the Community Notes nerds had to ruin it.”
As of now, neither Lana Del Rey nor Selena Gomez has publicly addressed the rumor.
On January 27, 2025, Selena Gomez shared a video on her Instagram Story in which she tearfully spoke about the ongoing ICE deportations under the new Donald Trump administration.
Captioned “I’m sorry” with a Mexican flag emoji, the *Only Murders In the Building* star was seen breaking down as she said:
