Police have arrested four women involved in a major home burglary in Lahore’s Model Town, recovering Rs60 million in cash and stolen items worth an additional Rs30 million, officials said on Monday.
The arrests were made under the supervision of DIG Organised Crime Imran Kishwar following directives from CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana.
The stolen items include jewellery, mobile phones, luxury watches, perfumes, and foreign currency.
The suspects, identified as Sana (wife of Humayun), Anam (wife of Nader Masih), Shahnaz (wife of Javed Masih), and Shaiba (daughter of Humayun), were detained during coordinated raids in Lahore, Kasur, and Multan.
Police revealed that Sana and Shahnaz, who worked as domestic helpers, orchestrated the theft with assistance from Anam and Shaiba.
Investigations further disclosed that Sana had a prior criminal record.
CCPO Kamyana commended the Organised Crime Unit (OCU) team for their swift action, awarding officers with certificates and cash prizes during a special ceremony attended by DIG Imran Kishwar.
Award recipients included Inspector Shahid Hussain, Sub-Inspector Badr Zaheer, ASI Nisar Ahmed, and several constables who played a crucial role in the operation.
Addressing the public, Kamyana urged citizens to conduct police character verification before hiring domestic workers and to register their details with local police stations.
He highlighted Lahore police’s ongoing efforts to combat organised crime through a combination of human intelligence and forensic science.
“We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of Lahore’s residents,” he said.
