Donald Trump calls Selena Gomez the "third amigo" in now debunked Truth Social post
A viral post falsely claiming that Donald Trump referred to Selena Gomez as the “third amigo” has been debunked. The rumour spread as Gomez faced backlash for her emotional video addressing deportation policies and the struggles of immigrant families.
In the now-deleted video, Gomez tearfully apologized to those affected by immigration crackdowns and expressed her frustrations over the policies. Shortly after, a post began circulating online alleging that Trump had made the “third amigo” comment on Truth Social, tying it to Selena’s hit series Only Murders in the Building.
The false post addressed Selena's outcry on Instagram and stated, "Selena, these are people who broke the law by coming here! Some have also committed other horrible crimes. I hope Selena is just as upset about the victims of these crimes. Focus on your career - the people want a sequel to Spring Breakers!"

Fact-checking sources confirmed that Trump never made the statement, either on Truth Social or in any public forum. The claim appears to be completely fabricated, yet it quickly went viral, fueled by ongoing debates over immigration and Selena’s comments.
Selena Gomez’s video received both support and criticism from the public. While many applauded her empathy, others accused her of overstepping boundaries.
After removing the video, Selena expressed her frustration, writing, "Apparently, it’s not OK to show empathy for people."
