A man and his daughter were shot dead by armed suspects seeking revenge over a quarrel at a barber shop in Chak 275 RB, Dijkot.
Police arrested one suspect and launched a search for the other, while regional police authorities ordered swift action to ensure justice.
Abbas, a 60-year-old local, visited a barber shop run by Amin alias Mobin.
A dispute broke out due to overcrowding, escalating tensions between Abbas and the barber.
In an apparent act of vengeance, Amin and his accomplice, Ramzan, attacked Abbas.
The suspects opened fire, injuring Abbas. When his 20-year-old daughter, Rukhsana, and her 14-year-old sister attempted to intervene, they were also shot.
All three victims were rushed to the hospital, where Abbas and Rukhsana succumbed to their injuries.
Upon learning of the double murder, senior police officers, including SP Iqbal Town Abid Zafar and DSP Factory Area Rana Attaur Rehman, arrived at the scene.
The bodies were sent for post-mortem examinations, and the main suspect, Ramzan, was taken into custody.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad, DIG Dr Abid Khan, took immediate notice of the incident and sought a comprehensive report from CPO Faisalabad, DIG Kamran Adil.
Special teams have been formed to apprehend the remaining suspect.
RPO Dr Abid Khan emphasized that all angles of the incident will be investigated to ensure justice is delivered swiftly.
"The culprits will be held accountable and punished according to the law to provide justice to the grieving family," he stated.
