Two men were caught red-handed while stealing copper wire and a winding machine transformer from the Pakistan Oil Field in Khaur on Saturday.
According to the police, the oil field's Security Incharge, Hamoodur Rehman, filed an FIR at Pindigheb police station, stating that two unknown individuals jumped over the wall and stole copper wire worth Rs50,000 and a transformer of a winding machine worth Rs45,000.
They hid the stolen items in the bushes outside, however, the entire incident was recorded on CCTV, and a secret security supervisor was assigned to catch the thieves when they returned to pick up the stolen goods.
At around 8:45pm, the two suspects returned to collect the stolen items and were caught red-handed by the security team.
The police were informed, and the thieves were handed over to them. Pindigheb police registered a case and arrested the two accused, Talha Khan and Akbar Khan, residents of Afghanistan.
