A newlywed couple caught the spotlight at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Friday as they skipped their wedding feast to attend the second Test match between Pakistan and the West Indies.
The couple arrived at the stadium in their wedding attire, surprising fans and adding an unexpected twist to the cricketing event, Express News reported.
The bride expressed her excitement, stating, “I have never watched a match at the stadium before. It was my long-standing wish to experience this in person.
My husband fulfilled my dream, and I couldn’t be happier.”
The groom, an equally passionate cricket fan, said, “Today is our wedding day, but I chose to come to the stadium to support Pakistan and my favourite players instead of attending the walima.”
Speaking to a local channel, the groom added, “I pray for Pakistan’s victory in this Test match.”
Match highlights
In the ongoing Test series, Pakistan bowled out the West Indies for just 163 runs in their first innings. However, the Green Shirts also struggled, getting dismissed for 154 runs in reply.
Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan top-scored with 49 runs, while Saud Shakeel contributed 32. Despite their efforts, the rest of the batting lineup failed to impress.
