Year's 1st mpox case reported in Peshawar

The first mpox case of the current year has been reported in Peshawar.

A man travelling from a gulf state was tested positive for the contagious disease during screening at the Peshawar Airport by the Border Health Services.

According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, the affected person was screened after he developed symptoms of mpox. This is the tenth case of mpox since promulgation of a health emergency.

Health Coordinator Dr Mukhtar Bharth said effective measures are being ensured to protect the public from mpox.
