Matthew McConaughey showcased his proud dad side as he attended the UT Women's basketball game with his 15-year-old daughter, Vida, on Thursday night.

The 55-year-old Oscar winner, who graduated from UT Austin in 1993 and serves as a professor of practice at the Moody College of Communication, was fully engaged as he watched the Longhorns face off against Tennessee's Lady Vols.

Following a nail-biting match, McConaughey and Vida were overjoyed when their team clinched victory in the Southeastern Conference, winning 80-76.

The father-daughter duo looked thrilled as they celebrated the hard-fought triumph.

Earlier this month, McConaughey paid tribute to Vida on her birthday with a heartfelt message. "Vida. 15 years. Thanks for being my tech guru, so savvy, and for loving to grow things. Love Papai," he captioned a throwback photo of her gardening.

Vida, who landed her first acting credit in 2021 with a small role in Sing 2, is McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves' only daughter. The couple also share sons Levi, 16, and Livingston, 12.

McConaughey, frequently spotted on the UT Austin campus, has embraced his role as the university's self-appointed 'minister of culture.'

His involvement aims to foster school pride among students and the surrounding community. He has been a faculty member in the Radio-Television-Film department since 2019, after previously serving as a visiting instructor since 2015.

Reflecting on his commitment to the university, McConaughey partnered with Oak View Group, Live Nation Entertainment, C3 Presents, and Dell Technologies to develop the Moody Center—a state-of-the-art venue with a 15,000-seat capacity that was designed with concerts in mind.

"That means more noise. That means more of a live experience, not only for the fan but for the player, for the band," McConaughey explained in a 2021 interview with Austin360.

Beyond his professional commitments, the Dazed and Confused star remains dedicated to his family and his Texas roots.

After years in Hollywood, McConaughey and Alves moved back to Texas in 2012, seeking a more private and grounded lifestyle.

"We were living a happy life in Malibu. We had a beautiful house that we'd built together and put a lot of love and care into. We were raising our kids there. I was growing everything in the yard. I had bees making honey," Alves shared in an interview with Southern Living.

Despite the challenges of transitioning from Los Angeles to Texas, Alves eventually embraced the move, finding comfort in the familiarity of Southern values and traditions.
