Police claim to have recovered stolen goods worth over Rs10 million

Sarwar Road Investigations Police claimed to have resolved a case involving the theft of over 60 tolas of gold and millions in cash, arresting a domestic worker and her accomplice.

The stolen goods, valued at over Rs10 million, have been recovered, police said on Thursday. Under the supervision of SP Investigation Cantonment Bushra Nisar, the Sarwar Road investigation team apprehended the suspects, identified as Mahnoor Khalid and her accomplice Jam Shan.

During the operation, police recovered 55 tolas of gold jewellery worth millions and Rs400,000 in cash from the suspects. According to police officials, Mahnoor had been employed as a domestic worker by the complainant, Anjum Iqbal.

A few days ago, she, along with her accomplice, fled with the jewellery and cash from the house. The breakthrough in the case was achieved using human intelligence, CCTV footage analysis, and the assistance of IT experts.

Police said the swift recovery and arrests highlight their commitment to tackling property crimes. Further investigations are underway, and the suspects will be presented in court soon.

Meanwhile, a former domestic worker was allegedly gang-raped by her ex-employer and his accomplice under the pretext of paying her outstanding salary Kot Lakhpat area Friday. Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt for the suspects.

As per the First Information Report (FIR), the victim had previously worked at Khalid Khan's company but resigned after not receiving her due salary.

She had repeatedly demanded the payment of Rs74,000 in arrears, out of which Khalid paid Rs40,000. To settle the remaining Rs34,000, Khalid called her to meet him in Kot Lakhpat.

When the victim arrived, Khalid and his accomplice, Hammed, allegedly forced her into a car at gunpoint and took her to a secluded house. There, the two men reportedly assaulted her and fled, leaving her in a semi-conscious state.
