RAWALPINDI:

With no let up in street crimes and robberies, a woman was robbed of gold ornaments in the presence of her little girls at their doorstep in the city.

Some robbers riding a motorcycle approached a woman who was taking her girls from a school in the Quaid-e-Azam Colony area of Dhamial. Girls could be seen shouting and trying to stop the robbers in CCTV footage of the incident.

It could be seen in the footage that the woman is seen parking the car in the street close to home after picking up her two girls from school. During this time, one girl gets out with a school bag and stands at the back of the car while the other girl is trying to get out of the front seat of the car.

Suddenly, two motorcycle riders wearing helmets, face masks and caps on their heads stop the motorcycle and stand at both doors of the car.

The suspects snatch jewellery and other belongings from the woman, who is seen sitting in the driving seat. The accused can also be seen in the footage snatching something from the little girl sitting in the front seat and then fleeing. The older girl standing in the back of the car can also be seen running towards the house, realising the snatching incident.

On being informed, the parents and two girls can be seen trying to grab the accused while they are escaping. However, the suspects escaped from the spot.

When contacted, Saddar SP Nabeel Khokhar said that a case had been registered. According to the First Information Report (FIR), the armed accused snatched only four bangles of four tolas worth about Rs1.15 million from the victim.
