Sher Afzal Marwat dismisses reports of Imran Khan's refusal to meet him

Sher Afzal Marwat, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has rejected media reports suggesting that the party's founder refused to meet him, calling the claims false and misleading.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament House on Friday, Marwat clarified that recent news stating that the PTI founder had blocked his meeting request was entirely untrue.

He also expressed his solidarity with the media on the issue of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and criticised the false narrative being spread.

He said that some individuals on social media claim to be associated with PTI, but in reality, they are following the agenda of Adil Raja. These people do an injustice to both PTI and Imran Khan by spreading false information, he alleged.

PTI leader made it clear that if Imran Khan ever tells him that his support is no longer needed, he would not even cast a shadow over him. He also requested the media to verify statements with him before broadcasting them, as such misinformation hurts his supporters, voters, and his community.

Regarding the ongoing negotiations, he said, "I believe the process is far from over as Imran Khan said, if the government agrees to form a commission, we are ready to return to the negotiation table".

In a strong statement, Marwat asserted that he would now distance himself from the media for a while, citing the harmful impact of fake news on his reputation.
