Vin Diesel confirms 'Fast X: Part 2' will film in Los Angeles: “It’s Time to Return Home”

Vin Diesel reveals Fast X: Part 2 will film in Los Angeles, honouring the city where the iconic franchise began.

Vin Diesel has announced that the upcoming Fast X: Part 2, the penultimate installment of the Fast & Furious franchise, will return to its roots by filming in Los Angeles. The city, which served as the backdrop for the series’ original 2001 film, holds a special place in the saga’s history.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Diesel credited his co-star Jordana Brewster for inspiring the decision. “Last week, during the fires that displaced LA… my sister Jordana reached out to me and said… Please have Universal film the rest of Fast X: Part 2 in LA,” he wrote alongside a photo of the duo. “Los Angeles needs it now more than ever.”

Diesel emphasized the significance of bringing the franchise back to where it all started. “Los Angeles is where Fast & Furious began filming 25 years ago… and now Fast will finally return home. All love.”

The franchise’s grand finale has been a long time coming. In 2024, Diesel hinted at Universal’s plans for a March 2026 release, potentially splitting the conclusion into two films. Speaking to fans, he promised a return to the series’ roots, saying, “I just want to get back to real street racing, practical stunts… and a reunion of that beautiful brotherhood.”

As the Fast & Furious saga nears its end, Diesel celebrated the journey with fans, calling the finale “a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together.”

With its return to Los Angeles, Fast X: Part 2 aims to honor the city’s resilience and the franchise’s legacy, blending nostalgia with a powerful new chapter.
