The girl allegedly abducted from the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area on January 17 was recovered by the police from Naushahro Feroze, Sindh, Express News reported on Friday.
According to the police, the 17-year-old girl, Zahra Batool, went of her own accord with the watchman.
On January 17, Zahra Batool went missing from her home in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 5, leading to an abduction case being filed at Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station by her mother under case number 22/2025.
The police formed a special team to search for the girl, and after receiving a tip-off, they reached Naushahro Feroze on Saturday morning.
The girl was recovered and brought back to Karachi. Initial investigations revealed that the girl had left willingly with a security guard from her neighborhood in order to marry him.
Zahra Batool’s mother had suspected the watchman, who was a neighbor, and had mentioned him in her FIR.
Earlier, three young men, including two brothers, were abducted in Ghotki, Sindh, by criminals demanding a Rs6 million ransom.
The victims, from Karachi’s Rizvia Society, were working for an online dry cleaning business. The abduction occurred on January 2 when they traveled to Ghotki for a job.
After expressing concerns to his mother, Owais’ phones were turned off. On January 3, he contacted his uncle and reported the ransom demand.
