Adam Scott, 51, recently shared an unusual behind-the-scenes incident from the filming of Severance season 2 during his appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on January 22.

The actor revealed he suffered a concussion on set, which led to a persistent nosebleed that caused some awkward moments with his castmates.

Scott explained that the nosebleed was relentless, leading to speculation about its cause. “When there's an actor whose nose won’t stop bleeding, the immediate assumption is cocaine,” Scott joked. To dispel any doubts, he admitted to making excessive cocaine-related jokes to reassure his colleagues that drugs were not involved. “For sure, by the end of the day, everyone thought it was cocaine,” he added humorously.

The issue became severe enough to warrant a trip to an emergency room in upstate New York, where Scott underwent a procedure to cauterize the inside of his nose. Host Seth Meyers shared a photo of Scott undergoing the procedure, taken by Severance director Ben Stiller.

Recalling the experience, Scott described the discomfort as a combination of pain and the sensation of having "a pound of pepper" in his nose, with strict instructions from the doctor not to sneeze during the process.

The critically acclaimed Severance returned to Apple TV+ with its second season on January 17, following the intense cliffhanger of the 2022 season one finale. The show continues to explore the lives of Mark Scout (played by Scott) and his colleagues as they grapple with the mysterious and sinister workings of Lumon Industries.

New episodes of Severance season 2 are released weekly on Fridays on Apple TV+.
