Number of registered voters surpasses 132m
The country's election oversight authority has released the latest statistics about the registered voters which has now surpassed 132.6 million, out which 71,275,222 are male voters while 61,393,293 are female voters.
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the total number of voters in Islamabad is 1,170,844; in Balochistan 5,437,699; in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 22,589,371; Punjab 75,545,995, while the total number of voters in Sindh is 27,824,070.
The ECP has also released a list of the top-10 districts by registered voters. According to the list, Lahore has the highest number of voters which is 7.17 million. In Karachi, the country's most populous city, the number of registered voters is 6.23 million in its four districts.
The number of voters in Faisalabad is 5.47 million; Rawalpindi 3.4 million; Multan 3.21 million; Rahim Yar Khan 3.15 million; Sialkot 2.88 million; Gujranwala 2.87 million and Kasur 2.31 million.
