Taking strong exception to keeping the federal government in the dark over investigation into the question paper leak, the Inter-Board Coordination Commission (IBCC) has written a strongly-worded letter to the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), asking it to share the findings of the investigation by January 23.
In the letter, the IBCC has reminded the CIE that it is yet to share the details of investigations and subsequent decision into the leak of Mathematics paper. The letter also mentioned the response of the CIE to its earlier correspondence.
"It was intimated that Cambridge is investigating the concerns about the alleged leak and will update with a response once the investigation concludes and a decision is reached," the letter stated, adding that no report was shared with it even after sending several reminders.
The letter said that the IBCC was surprised to learn through a Sindh High Court (SHC) notice that the CIE had conducted the investigation but it failed to penalise the persons responsible for the paper leak.
The commission took strong exception of this attitude, as the CIE did not take the IBCC into confidence about the outcomes of the probe, despite the fact that it had completed the inquiry.
"The issue of constant non-cooperation in providing requisite information to the IBCC raises significant concerns, especially when the IBCC is required to present such information at national higher forums," stated the IBC letter.
