Kidnapped trader recovered in Haripur

Police have recovered a young trader who was abducted by unknown people in the Jabri area of Makhnial on Wednesday. The suspects also snatched cash during the kidnapping spree.

Raja Hamza, who owns Capital Agency in the Jabri commercial market, was kidnapped at gunpoint on Wednesday. The Makhniyal Station House Officer (SHO) took prompt action, resulting in the successful rescue of the victim.

According to the complainant, the entire kidnapping drama was staged under the patronage of Malik Saleem Jabri Waley. The kidnappers, who were 25 in number and armed with a cache of weapons, also made off with Rs1 million in cash from his shop, the victim alleged.

Hamza further alleged that the kidnappers, who included individuals like Zia, Tahir, and Muqaddas Qasim, have been creating problems for the residents of Jabri day and night.

The suspects have been erecting walls near residential properties and blocking roads, particularly affecting the education of children, who are now unable to commute to schools and colleges, he further complained.

"The situation has become so worse that life in the Jabri area has become unbearable," Hamza said and urged the Haripur DPO to take immediate and strict action against the perpetrators so that the hooliganism in the area could be brought to an end and the residents could finally feel safe.
