'Notorious human trafficker' netted

FIA arrests human trafficker Shehryar Ahmad Khan in Haripur, linked to Greece boat accident; vehicle seized.

HARIPUR:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed on Thursday to have arrested a human trafficker involved in the Greece boat accident during a raid in Haripur. The suspect was identified as Shehryar Ahmad Khan of Dinga Pul Sarai Saleh Mohri No 02, tehsil Haripur.

Officials seized the vehicle of a lawyer who resisted the arrest of the second accused.

Sources in the FIA Crime Circle Abbottabad said that a team was formed under the ongoing campaign against the human trafficking mafia. Sub Inspectors (SIs) Ziaul Islam, Tahir Khan and Aamir Nazir and their subordinates Gul Khattab, Abdul Wajid and Shahzad Abbasi successfully arrested Shehryar during a raid.

According to the FIA officials, the suspect is listed as serial number 82 in the list of human traffickers and is involved in the Greece boat accident incident.
