The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency made over 460 arrests in a 33-hour period between January 21 and 22.

These arrests included individuals with criminal histories involving sexual assault, robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, drug and weapons offenses, domestic violence, and resisting arrest.

The arrests took place in various states, including Illinois, Utah, California, Minnesota, New York, Florida, and Maryland.

ICE targeted individuals from several countries, including Afghanistan, Angola, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Senegal, and Venezuela.

Additionally, ICE issued over 420 detainers, requesting to be notified when individuals are released from custody.

The arrests were part of a broader effort by the Trump administration to strengthen immigration enforcement, including executive orders and actions by the Department of Homeland Security.

These moves included removing limits on expedited removals and rescinding a previous memo restricting ICE enforcement operations.
