Akshay Kumar shares update on Hera Pheri 3

Akshay Kumar has confirmed that the highly anticipated third installment of the Hera Pheri franchise will commence filming by the end of 2025. In an interview, Akshay Kumar expressed his excitement for the project, which has been long-awaited by fans of the iconic comedy series.

“I, too, am eagerly awaiting the start of Hera Pheri 3,” said Akshay Kumar. “If all goes well, we expect to begin filming by the end of this year. When we first made Hera Pheri, none of us anticipated that it would evolve into such a cult classic. Even upon watching the film for the first time, I didn’t fully comprehend its impact. Yes, it was amusing, but we certainly didn’t expect it to gain such legendary status.”

The original Hera Pheri (2000), directed by Priyadarshan, became an instant success, largely due to the chemistry between its lead actors – Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty.

The film's success led to the release of a sequel, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), which further cemented the franchise’s place in the annals of Indian cinema. Over the years, the series has developed a dedicated fanbase, and there has been considerable demand for a third installment.

Akshay Kumar’s announcement that filming for Hera Pheri 3 will begin soon has generated excitement among fans. The film’s script has been finalised, and production plans are now underway.

The lead trio, including Akshay Kumar as Raju, Paresh Rawal as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, and Sunil Shetty as Shyam, will reprise their roles for the new film, continuing the adventures of their beloved characters.

During the interview, Akshay Kumar also spoke warmly of his co-star Paresh Rawal. “Paresh is an exceptionally funny person in real life,” Akshay said. “We were recently shooting for Bhooth Bangla in Jaipur, and we had a great deal of fun together. We shared many laughs during the making of Hera Pheri as well, though some things are best left unsaid!”

The camaraderie between Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Sunil Shetty has been central to the franchise's success. Fans can look forward to their return in Hera Pheri 3, which is expected to pick up where the previous films left off.

In addition to Hera Pheri 3, Akshay Kumar is preparing for the release of his upcoming film Sky Force, which is set to release on January 24, 2025. Co-starring Veer Pahariya, Nimrat Kaur, and Sara Ali Khan.
