Public universities' employees protests enter fifth day

Academic activities in Sindh's public universities remained suspended for the fifth consecutive day due to protests against the appointment of bureaucrats in universities, putting the future of millions of students at stake.

The Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) Sindh Chapter have demanded that the Sindh government withdraw its proposed amendments to the Universities Act. They also announced that the boycott will continue on Thursday and Friday. Meanwhile, university faculty members staged a protest on University Road.

FAPUASA held an online meeting, presided by the Chapter President Prof Dr Akhtiar Ghumro, on Wednesday. It was decided in the meeting that the boycott of classes will continue on Thursday and Friday.
