Violinist honoured for '40 years of musical excellence'
The Punjab Arts Council (PAC) organised an event titled "Itiraf-e-fun" to honour the internationally renowned violinist Ustad Raees Ahmed Khan, where he mesmerised the audience with his captivating violin performance.
The event was a tribute to the musician's 40 years' worth of contributions to the field of music. The special guest at the ceremony was Chairman Senate Advisor Yahya Hussain Shah. Dr Fauzia Saeed, Professor Shahbaz Ali, Hasan Abbas Raza, Khalid Siddiqui and Dr Seema were also present and spoke about Ustad Raees Ahmed Khan's personality and artistic achievements.
The speakers highlighted the ways in which the acclaimed violinist had rendered exceptional services to the field of music and had been honoured with prestigious national awards such as the Presidential Award for Pride of Performance, Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Hilal-i-Imtiaz, which are a testament to his extraordinary talent.
They further stated that Ustad Rais Ahmed Khan had brought international acclaim to Pakistan and is a "true pride of the nation". Special guest Yahya Hussain Shah remarked that honouring an artist during their lifetime is a commendable initiative.
Rawalpindi PAC Director, Sajjad Hussain, while addressing the ceremony, said that the musician's ability to seamlessly blend Eastern and Western melodies on the violin distinguishes his art from that of other musicians.
Ustad Rais Ahmed Khan has introduced Pakistan's culture and music to various countries through his performances.
