Six cops suspended for 'misuse of authority'

A self-accountability process, and employees who show outstanding performance are being rewarded.

Six police personnel, including the in-charge of Painsra check post, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and three constables, were suspended and brought to the line for exceeding their authority.

CPO DIG Kamran Adil placed the in-charge of Painsra outpost, ASI Rana Sajid Mahmood and the Head Muharrar of the police station, Havaldar Zawar Ali, who were found guilty in the inquiry conducted under the supervision of SP Iqbal Town Abid Zafar for exceeding their authority, while SP Madina Town Police Station, Saad Arshad suspended ASI Farhan Sindhu of Sargodha Road police station, three constables Tariq, Mateen and Hassan, who were found negligent in their duties and caught gamblers and later released them after taking bribes, and appointed DSP Sargodha Road Waqar Azeem as the inquiry officer.

On this occasion, CPO Kamran Adil said that the police department is undergoing a self-accountability process, and employees who show outstanding performance are being rewarded.
