'Chinese investment to boost development'
Punjab Minorities Minister Ramesh Singh Arora has said that the province is well-positioned to attract Chinese investments that will drive development, create jobs and boost the economy.
Meeting Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren during a visit to the consulate on Wednesday, he highlighted the longstanding and robust friendship between Pakistan and China.
The leaders discussed strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in the areas of minorities empowerment, economic development and cooperation between Pakistan and China.
"China has been a constant ally of Pakistan, providing diplomatic support and economic assistance at crucial moments," Ramesh Arora said.
He said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) stood as a testament to the partnership, offering unparalleled opportunities for mutual growth, prosperity and regional connectivity."
According to an official statement, Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren praised the efforts of the Punjab government for improving the lives of religious minorities.
Zhao Shiren also commended the government's solar panel programme.
"These initiatives are not only making a tangible difference in the lives of the people but also strengthening the economic development of the province," he remarked.
"China is running scholarship programmes in five major universities in Punjab, and we are committed to expanding these efforts," he stated.
