Lamar Odom claims drugs were 'slipped into' his drink before 2015 overdose
Lamar Odom has once again doubled down on his belief that drugs were “slipped into” his drink the night of his 2015 near-fatal overdose. Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show this Sunday, the former NBA star recalled the harrowing experience that left him in a coma for days.
“I don’t know what they were able to slip into my drink or what,” Odom said, emphasizing that he doesn’t remember much of that fateful night. “I don’t really remember because I was in a coma,” he added.
Odom had been at a Nevada brothel following his divorce from Khloé Kardashian. He admitted to feeling upset for not having cocaine to take to the brothel, but was unaware that this would be the last night he’d remember for days.
“I remember having a drink and then waking up three days later with it all over the news,” he said. The former Los Angeles Lakers player also recalled struggling to walk or talk upon regaining consciousness, which led to months of rehabilitation and recovery.
Now, Odom is channeling his experiences to help others understand addiction, which he describes as a brain disease. “It’s important for people to really understand and educate themselves,” he stated, focusing on his own personal growth since the incident.
In previous interviews, Odom has continued to assert that he did not intentionally take drugs the night of his overdose, and has suggested that someone connected to the brothel owner, Dennis Hof, might have been responsible.
