Julia Haart has triumphed in her divorce case, gaining control of the business she ran during her marriage to Silvio Scaglia, along with the $65 million apartment and nearly $10 million in cash, Page Six has reported.
Haart expressed her satisfaction on Tuesday, stating, “justice was served.”
The couple, who jointly managed the Elite World Models agency and the luxury lingerie brand La Perla, had been embroiled in a prolonged legal dispute since Haart filed for divorce in 2022. Scaglia responded by attempting to dismiss her from her role.
Haart claimed Scaglia had given her half of Freedom Holding, which owned both the agency and their apartment, as compensation for managing the business, but he later argued that her ownership was only a small portion of the company. He accused her of serious misdeeds, including stealing from a bank account and taking a company Bentley, though he failed to provide evidence in court.
Despite Scaglia’s accusations, Haart has emerged victorious in every aspect of their legal battle, according to court documents reviewed by Page Six.
Judge Jeffrey Pearlman ruled in Haart's favor last week, granting her a default judgment in the divorce after Scaglia ceased participating in the proceedings. Scaglia had also been the subject of an arrest warrant in a separate case for failing to pay Haart and skipping court. He appears to have fled to Milan.
In this ruling, Haart was granted 50% ownership of Freedom Holding, along with power of attorney over Scaglia’s 50%, allowing her to make decisions without his consent.
As part of the judgment, she also gained ownership of the luxurious Tribeca triplex penthouse that they shared during their marriage, which Haart has continued to occupy since their separation.
The judgment included additional financial compensation, awarding Haart $7.4 million in unpaid management fees from 2019 to 2021 and half the proceeds from the sale of a painting by Kees Van Dongen, which brought in $2.97 million. Additionally, she will receive half of the cash withdrawals Scaglia made from their businesses since the divorce, a sum still to be determined but expected to be substantial.
